Meet Studio Owner Julie Michaels

Julie is a former dancer, actress and filmmaker. She established Ray Pilates in 2009 after completing her Pilates Mat Work and Equipment Intensive certification at Body Harmonics in Toronto. As studio owner, she has worked with many different populations including: athletes, people with acute injuries or chronic pain and others who just want to tone their bodies and strengthen their core. Her mission as a Pilates teacher is to get clients moving with precision and power and to make them feel fabulous in their own skin. Throughout her life, Julie has worked one-on-one with personal Pilates trainers in Toronto, Montreal and Los Angeles. Thanks to Pilates training, she was able to work around previous injuries and isolate muscles she didn’t know she had. These experiences have helped her understand the client perspective. Julie brings the spontaneity and focus she developed in her arts career to the Ray Pilates studio, combining fun and humour with a hardcore workout that exercises both body and mind.
